Nothing makes our efforts more worthwhile than hearing about our impact firsthand from our recipients. A small sampling of the wonderful feedback we have received over the years follows:
Dear Mr. Brathwaite, I express my sincere gratitude for giving me the opportunity to attend SPISE 2019 through your generous sponsorship supporting my participation. With this background, I intend to pursue a successful career as a software engineer. Thank you for investing in me and my aspirations. I will try my very best to represent The PETNA Foundation to the best of my ability and make the best of a wonderful opportunity. Yours respectfully,
Hello Mr. and Mrs. Brathwaite, I have some great news. I have completed my degree requirements, and I have officially received my graduation approval confirmation. My convocation ceremony is being held on June 14th, 2019. The journey has been tough but rewarding. I couldn’t have done it without you both and I am forever grateful for your support. Sincerely,
The Caribbean Science Foundation (CSF) greatly appreciates the continued support of SPISE by the PETNA Foundation. The students selected for this year’s class appear to be our strongest yet, and we are eager to welcome them to the program and begin their experience with us.
Anderson Peters, Markim Felix and Josh Hazzard participated in the Trinidad National Championship this weekend. Anderson Peters won the Javelin with a throw of 83.38m and with that throw he established a new championship record and also a National record. He also qualified for the IAAF World Championship in London in August. Markim placed 2nd in the Javelin with a PB of 78.80m. Josh Hazzard came second in Discus and 3rd in Shot. Thank you once again…to Mr. Brathwaite. The Javelins he sent to the club have made a big difference. Due to his generous contribution we were able to send the athletes to Trinidad. We will be forever grateful to him.
It was the highlight of my day yesterday to learn more about PETNA and your commitment to real community transformation over the long term. Through PETNA and others, [we have] provided funding for medicines and supplies and our Medical Ambassadors did provide a training last April…on “how to prevent maternal bleeding after birth”, a common problem and cause of death in the rural areas of Congo. We want to thank you…for your help to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our brothers and sisters (and their neighbours) in Congo.
I want to share some of the progress we made since we last met. At Shinda Basic School we have made so good progress: We have completed making 125 chairs which have been in use for over a month now. We were able to repaint and refurbish the repurposed container in a good condition to continue to use it as a classroom. We were able to start and almost finish a construction of a new classroom which is being used to alleviate the case when class levels had to share a class.
Thank you for your generosity in sponsoring my participation in the Student Program for Innovation in Science and Engineering (SPISE). The news of my acceptance into the program was met with overwhelming joy in my family. The opportunity to be at SPISE is going to play a big part in helping me design my future…You can expect big things from me following this experience.
I am very excited to share with you that I have been invited for an interview for the 2017 Commonwealth Caribbean Rhodes Scholarship. I feel honoured to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious scholarship…The opportunity would not have been possible without the support from you and the PETNA Foundation and I am forever grateful.
I would like to wholeheartedly thank the members of the PETNA Foundation for awarding me the Nicholas and Janice Brathwaite Scholarship…This scholarship will allow me to pursue my dream of a career in Computer Science. I am overwhelmed with so many emotions and can definitely assure you that I will strive for nothing but excellence. With the knowledge and skills that will be imparted unto me from my studies and interactions, I will be in an even better position to assist my country. Thank you for believing in me and giving me this chance.
On behalf of parents and children receiving support from Grenacoda’s Student Assistance Program (SAP) we, management and staff extend sincere appreciation to you and members of PETNA for the donation of shoes…You have our best wishes as you continue your good work.
