In 2009, the PETNA Foundation expanded its focus to include repairing and rebuilding the homes of those who have suffered but don’t have the means to rebuild. We provided funding for materials to complete major repairs on the home of Evelyn Edwin in Coast Guard, St Mark which was severely damaged by Hurricane Ivan. Later we provided assistance to rebuild the home of Louise Marshall, another resident of Coast Guard.

“We are providing the finances but in both cases the villagers – led by Pastor Hosten and members of the Praise and Worship Sanctuary in Coast Guard – are volunteering their time and expertise,” said Nicholas Brathwaite, founder of the PETNA Foundation.

He continued, “The people need our help but they are not asking for handouts. These are very talented and hardworking people who only need a helping hand to lift themselves out of their economic situations.’’
